It makes a lot of sense if you're selling wet mouth spray.
Good morning everyone. Today’s letter includes:
Our next Guest Lecture chat is open, which means paid readers can ask Ghia’s Mélanie Masarin whatever they want!
A case for hiring young directors for your next product launch.
My first job is hiring — one of you should apply.
A huge applause to whoever is doing Eli Zabar’s PR right now.
Guest Lecture is a Feed Me series that captures the spirit of that (sometimes unhinged) guest lecturer who would come into your class on a Friday, drop more knowledge than you learned all year, maybe hit on a student, and then leave forever.
This weekend, paid readers can ask Mélanie Masarin, the founder and CEO of Ghia anything they want in the Feed Me Substack chat. Prior to Ghia, Masarin worked at Goldman Sachs, in dining services while attending Brown, and Glossier. She also writes a newsletter about fashion, and I find her outfit logs particularly satisfying.
Are more consumer brands going to join OnlyFans this year? Emily Oberg, founder of Sporty and Rich, has been teasing a new sexual wellness brand called Sensual Sport. The first two photos of products I’ve seen are from Oberg’s personal Instagram account: wet mouth spray (this sounds inventive, I’m not being facetious) and pleasure gel but they have a trademark for supplements, lubes and toys. I noticed Sensual Sport’s Instagram added a link to an OnlyFans account in their Instagram bio. I’m curious if part of the strategy here will be having OF creators use the products — I know a common problem for sexual wellness brands is to get everyday creators post about their products because of the connotation that comes with them. I reached out to Oberg to find out more, stay tuned.
