NEWS:
We discussed this the other day, but sleep seems to be a new status symbol. Linda Wells did a really great explainer of the state of luxury sleep the for Air Mail this week. I’ve noticed this pattern amongst my friends over the past few months where listing our weekend plans will often look like “Workout, clean, cook, sleep.” Obviously, you’re going to sleep over the weekend. But it’s become this checklist item meaning it’s being prioritized as an intentional activity. This morning, WSJ published an article about 18-to-35-year-olds who are skipping partying as an activity and replacing it with the indulgent process of building a sleep routine, including sleepy concoctions of melatonin and magnesium, skincare routines, and putting on cozy pajamas. Seatings between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. now make up 31% of Yelp reservations, up from 19% in 2017. The proportion of reservations between 6 p.m. and midnight have declined in tandem.
I got this email yesterday, so I guess I’ll get into it. I’m not a skincare freak, but this is what I do and it works for me.
