Hi. Late letter today, apologies. Every once in a blue moon I send a Feed Me After Dark which is… when I send this letter in the evening instead of the morning. After the news section of this letter, I include an extensive guide on how to feel better. It’s broken down into three categories: spend a lot, spend a little, and spend nothing.
😎 TYB is hiring someone to lead their sales. TYB (“Try Your Best”) is building a play-to-earn rewards platform for top brands to build and engage communities of loyal customers. The platform provides brands like Dieux, Topicals and Ouai, which pay to use the platform, perks that social networks do not. That includes direct connections, co-creation of products with top-customers, and data about a community member’s purchase history and engagement with the brand. They’re hoping their next Account Executive might be a Feed Me reader. Ideally this person has spent time around or in consumer brands, and has an understanding of their key growth metrics and levers, including LTV, CAC, retention, and performance marketing. TYB actually used to be a client of mine, and I have a few friends who own brands that use TYB for product development and customer retention. This listing was paid for by TYB :)
NEWS!
It’s going to be a very bratty summer. Some say Brat, Gabriel Smith’s DEBUT novel coming out in June, is this summer’s The Guest. I finished my copy, and I’ll review it here once Penguin Random House allows me to. This morning, Charli XCX announced the name of her next album: Brat. When everyone comes out of their winter cocoons, they will be insufferable and bratty.
You can DM people on Substack now. “This highly requested feature allows you to start private one-to-one conversations with anyone in the Substack network.” Message away…..
Sweetgreen is pushing their dinner and takeout messaging. I’m just not convinced this place will ever be a better option than my Thai Seamless order. That being said, Sweetgreen hired their new head of social this week and I’m curious what they’ll bring to the table this year.
