Kiernan Shipka is doing a mad men rewatch and someone at CAA is leaving money on the table by not getting her to do content/color commentary around this
FWIW, Two weeks ago I posted a Mad Men vs. Sopranos poll in my IG and Mad Men won.
I worked as a bank teller through college (2007-2011, a WILD time to work for a bank). Banking experience + liberal arts degree is a brilliant combination, imho.
1. "If you take your girl to Venice and she starts posting the Cipriani logo on her Stories, you need to get her more stamps in her passport" - probably the most accurate and necessary observation I've read in days.
"Even when there’s no tree or boozy eggnog, it’s a show about buying and selling and Jell-O molds and family crises." obsessed with this line. also caroline calloway's gift suggestion being pens? on brand, amazing, living for it
I never minded cubes. I think I could do a return to office if I had a nice cube or a private office and a short commute. But I'd switch careers before I went back to an open office.
Me too! I like going into the office for meetings and socializing but find it so difficult to concentrate on actual work in an open-plan office. I need a little private space!
When I worked at HarperCollins, my cubicle was directly in front of an editor's private office. He'd leave for meetings and I would spin my chair around to look through the huge window he had and feel jealous.
One of our most memorable dates was at the Odeon in early 1985. We alluded to a wedding by talking about tennis––white, a court, "love."
Great fondness for the place.
I'm almost through Season One of a MM rewatch. Pete Campbell is a great character but I never rooted for him. Roger is somehow my favorite character. My ambition/fantasy was always to work like Don. Come into a room, give a brilliant idea, and then leave for the day.
First time I noticed that the dept. store heiress is also the psychologist on Billions!
Roger is my favorite character, too, despite…everything? I think slattery’s delight in playing him is just so palpable. He’s magnetic on screen. And those one-liners couldn’t have a better backdrop to pop against
Mad Men is and will always be one of my favorites if not favorite ever- just timeless! Love the restaurant pen idea as well, always grabbing new ones for my collection!

Feed Me consulting at it again
If your girl posts the Cipriani logo, that's not your girl, that's an affiliate link.
I'm not much of a spin-off enthusiast but a Sally spin-off could really do something for me. Was there a better side ting than Rachel Menken?
Sally spin-off? Babe i'm gunning for a Bertram Cooper prequel

Mad men is truly one of few shows I think about again and again - I love the Twitter account that posts a screenshot every day
Same, it's so well done and the format of it is so different than television today (one long movie)
The way it weaved in history, events, and the soundtrack of the era in the story also was just chef’s kiss

2. what's happening to Michael Barbaro?!

I miss going into the office world too. Founders/freelancers in LA — any ideas for work-adjacent daytime human connection?
Love that Cafe Gitane is announced as "back" - but want to know what happened to the second location that they were going to open up in Red Hook?
My favorite was the location in the Jane hotel </3333
they have a location in Vinegar Hill!
Was in Gitane not too long ago, doesn't look like it's happening.
Also:
1. I hope Gitane doesn't get overrun by the social media crowd now.
2. Did you know there's one in Tokyo?
3. Like the Odeon pens, I love giving people CG stickers.
4. We need a list of timeless bistros, like CG and Cafe Select in Nolita.
Been wondering too... it's been sitting abandoned since they pasted on the window logo last year

the cipriani logo is probs bc there’s a cipriani-branded condo and private club going up in west palm beach, all the palm beachers are stoked on it
Oh I think they were in Venice
oh facts, i don’t read enough page six
I will never get over the scene of Betty shooting the birds. They did her so grimy in the end.
so unhappy
Mad Men ♥️ fave show forever. it's like watching a novel.
And, let’s not forget the brilliant set design 💗
Going to DC minetta in mid Jan. Will report back 🫡
thank you queen
I'm gonna need more than one anecdote to make me believe it's a cool spot. If it's anything like the crowd at Pastis... 🤨
Pastis was sleeeeeeeppy when I went a few weeks ago
