Influencers have started putting up Christmas trees.
And Macy's is officially decked out. 🎄
Good morning everyone. Here are some highlights of my weekend:
I visited Gem’s new spot on Mott Street. The space is quite lovely, and plenty of familiar faces were working behind the counter, or at the Le Pain Quotidien-esque tables in the back. I bought a loaf of bread, which I spent a lot of the weekend slicing and buttering. Their sandwiches and home goods also looked great.
I got a gel manicure, which was a rare move for me but I’m doing everything I can to feel a little more put together during the busiest time of year. And as always, a great anthropological experience — there is nobody more out of touch than a woman receiving a massage at a nail salon, with headphones in, asking if anyone has a phone charger. My friends and I were texting this morning about how after watching the Martha Stewart doc on Netflix, we want our hair to look better (and more blown out) during the week.
Had pasta at Il Posto Accanto, which has the most chaotic and wonderful menu copy in all of New York.
Also, I got locked out of my Facebook… can anyone help me with that?
Tomorrow I will be voting and publishing a newsletter about my trip to DC. Next week I have some big Feed Me announcements, including an event in New York. Today’s letter includes: what
told me about seeing himself in the Times today, what I’m observing about women buying wedding dresses (a lot of them don’t have a ring yet), and an applause for the SKIMS product management team.
