For brushes I am surprised the cut didn’t mention Dawn soap. I’ve found it to work the best on my brushes and if it can clean it up after oil spills then it should be able to handle a little foundation.
Wait I'm so sad about hideaway! Also fun fact - Jaws was based on the shark that my family friend caught off the coast of Montauk although filmed in MV it's based on the hamptons/Long Island - therefore we should celebrate in Montauk as well!
I had not heard about Plexi yet, so here for it. I went to college with Steph and am consistently impressed at how his career has played out. Is there anything beyond collabing with Michelle Obama?
Wow I didn't realize it has been 50 years since Jaws came out.. thank you for the reminder! I rewatched it at the 35m Film Forum l screening, last fall. It was such a perfect experience. I highly recommend it for all. The theater was full and it seemed like a good half of the crowd had not seen the film before because people were jumping and screaming! It was beautiful to see people respond to the film like that after 49 years. The movie is also so funny (intentionally). The entire cast is incredible. Everyone actually looks like someone who would live in that small beach town! There's all this funny background chatter. Anyway, I recommend! I actually cried? Crazy.
Joe is such a unique voice. Kudos to you and thanks to him for the interview. Fascinated he gives Morgan Wallen a thumbs up. “I Had Some Help” is undeniably catchy 🤠
“t’s funny, there were those stories about how suddenly bankers could say bad words again, you know, really speak their minds. Maybe there are elements of truth to that. But then go watch a CEO on TV get asked about tariffs, and damn are they careful about their words. “ clock that tea.
I'm glad you linked to that Bloomberg article warning about Substack's coming issues with its lack of moderation.
My reply to the Bloomberg concern over Substack's free speech stance is this.
Substack is unlike most platforms in that it's composed of siloed newsletters. So if there's an anti-vax newsletter on Substack, that's unfortunate and if I couldn't avoid it, I'd want to punch someone. But I can easily avoid it.
As for Notes, if you see a writer that annoys you, despite the algorithm, you can block/mute that writer.
I look at my Notes feed pretty often but I'd bet more than 95% of my actual time on Substack is reading and commenting on newsletters, including my own.

We're ABSOLUTELY celebrating in Montauk. I heard this *might* be what's taking over the Hideaway space: https://www.instagram.com/p/DFdYKduRXCa/?hl=en

Outside of telling him how great he was while dressed as a ninja turtle, sadly no.
