It’s crazy how Netflix is using AI to better sync original film with their dubbed versions saw various TikToks about it —wild, it has literally taken the worst part of watching dubbed movies out of the equation
Also has anyone else noticed how prime and Netflix keep making the same movies? Like it’s the same plot but it gets made by both studios with slight differences
How does that work? Does the script just get sold to both? Does AI just conjure it up so it doesn’t really matter?
The AI dubbing stuff is so amazing with how it can actually change the lip movements, it should open up a lot more cross-country viewing
And I had to do a double take when I saw Red One to confirm it was on Amazon. Completely feels like a Netflix movie. I think it's just people coming up with similar ideas and when they're commercial, more than one buyer wants them.
Could be someone writes a script which goes around town and before it's bought/while it's being made it inspires another writer to write their version, and then for any number of reasons both come out very close to each other even though one was first
Example Kieran shipka totally killer (PRIME) vs time cut in Netflix both are about time traveling back to stop a serial killer from killing a loved one (her mother) the Netflix one her sister (time cut) if you watch both movies it’s literally same movie with minor differences
I'll have to check both out! A lot of times an exec also sees another streamer's project and is like we need "our [X]" so that could be what's going on too
Really intrigued by the entertainment-media-tech nexus but beyond the platform algorithms, ChatGPT and OpenAI news items, I sense that a lay person like myself has at best a nebulous picture of AI applications in films. I’m curious about both sides’ perspectives: a product manager at Runway/Midjourney as well as some film producer who’s amenable to incorporating AI into the production stages, i.e. not making another Avatar.
I did the VIPeel 3x as sessions in a group and I was not impressed. I prefer Microneedling and PRP - I know it doesn't do the same thing but, I just love how it improves skin texture and gives me a glow.
It is kinda hardcore (there is a healing time) but the result are glowing, even skin. It is a chemical peel but ok for sensi skin. Honestly not that painful (has something in it for pain). You do need to a med spa/dermatologist nurse for application but it really yields long term results.
Guys, shes getting MARRIED next year! Congrats!!
fingers crossed.....
Came to comment the same!! Congrats!!!
Let me write a definitive guide to lasers for you

I'm rewatching Southern Charm from S1 so I'm behind on AI movies lol
What is an example of the same movie thing?

A Family Affair (Netflix) and The Idea of You (Prime Video), not that I begrudge having more older woman/younger man romances on the market!

I'll look into it, and maybe do a deeper dive this year!
These newsletter are so good. Great variety and breakdown. Today did not disappoint. Withholding comment on the Kim K. Stuff. lol
The future of AI is so crazy but eventually only two to three big players will be doing it in a way that works very well. The rest will be on YouTube.
I’m so happy you’re digging the columnists. They make me so proud.
Loving it! Keep going!

You buried the LEDE about marriage!
Because we need to focus on Teddy’s brilliance
It was a great look at the state of the industry. But still...
I have to keep some secrets!!! But now I have to re-read all your essays about marriage…
I’m actually ‘ambivalent to semi-into’ Kim’s Santa Baby Krackhouse art house film. The comments on IG are hilarious eg “find God, this is Satanic!”
I hate that Kim K little film. She gives nothing
Would love to know your Yoga studio recos in BK!
ok does anyone else think the kim k video is giving paul mccarthy vibes?
