Good morning everyone. This is a palate cleanser for all the Black Friday content. No shopping deals here, just news about

Three’s a trend. I’m seeing more and more brands use physical envelopes on Instagram as invitations to campaigns or promotions. I like it! It breaks up their feed, and is a nostalgic nod to a time not very long ago when holiday party invitations did indeed come in a fat, licked-closed envelope.
As if the bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, and three wedding dresses weren’t enough, now brides are spending a ton on asking their friends to be in their wedding party. Before we begin, IF I have a bridal party, my friends will be asked over a phone call or a nice dinner. Now, let’s discuss the custom boxes, personalized gift baskets and lavish events that are acting as a sort of appetizer for the wedding day. Mindy Weiss, a West Coast wedding planner, said that three-quarters of the weddings she handles now include formal proposals for bridesmaids. “This is the introduction,” she said. “What kind of bride is she going to be? You know from that bridesmaid ask.” Don’t stories like this make you wonder, How much credit card debt are these people in? Like, I don’t even think I’m buying anything for Black Friday today. I cannot begin to imagine sending an Yves Saint Laurent cardholder, a bottle of designer perfume and a tube of lipstick with each bridesmaid’s name engraved on it. Actually I kind of like the engraved lipstick idea, if anyone reading this wants to get me one for Christmas.
Social media managers and marketing teams rejoice. Instagram will now allow you to download public Reels, which means no more sketchy third-party sites.
