Good morning everyone. I want to say thank you to everyone who has upgraded to a paid sub over the last week and included a little note. I love little notes.
I also have a very fun letter in store for you tomorrow.
But today, we live in today:
New York Magazine launched a retail platform for their branded merchandise. This play wasn’t a significant revenue driver for Buzzfeed, but New York Magazine has something that Buzzfeed doesn’t have (but A24, who has a wildly successful merch brand does) — they’re cool. The shop will offer 15 items in total — caps, totes, socks, and sweatshirts branded with the slogan ‘New Yawk’ and ‘New York’ in the magazine’s iconic typeface. Two items will feature graphics from the viral Vulture package “How a Nepo Baby Is Born,” about children of celebrities. I was out to dinner last night and I became friends the the couple next to me, and the wife hated me until I said I write for New York Magazine and then she told me she has been subscribing to NYMag since 1999. And THAT, my readers, is the power of New York Magazine.
LVMH is officially sponsoring The Olympics. They struck this highly anticipated deal (previously estimated to cost the luxury giant $166 million) with the summer games only a year away. I am very excited to see how this plays out. The fashion conglomerate's executives, along with Olympic Committee, struck this highly anticipated deal (previously estimated to cost the luxury giant $166 million) with the summer games only a year away. "The Games are an opportunity to make France shine," Antoine Arnault said as he made the official announcement. So real.
