My wife works in the spirits industry and can confirm that the Macallan placement is highly likely. Look at shows like Emily in Paris for more aggressive examples of this: Lillet!

Another example is the Netflix show "Running Point" (Kate Hudson). There was a ton of odd product mentions that seemed crowbarred into the dialog.

Also LOTs of restaurants were mentioned in the show; I'm assuming these places let Netflix film for free-ish in exchange for a plug

I was wondering about the Coca Cola bottle (full sugar) next to Khloe on call her daddy today….

Totally. These days, I'm assumming everything the Kardashians (and their kids) eat, drink or wear has a contract behind it.

Most aggressive example was Michters placements on Billions. It's almost like they stopped the scene to have someone drop a bottle in the middle of the shot

I too was sucked into the 48 minute YouTube video last night, and my biggest takeaway is to always plan for the worst even if it’s a buzzkill!!! Just like how a prenup might seem unsexy but could protect you in the long run, backing up a collaborative creative venture with legal documentation from the jump is probably a good call. I felt so bad listening to Emma talk about how there was just an unspoken division of labor but minimal legal framework for their podcast. Could have saved her a lot of headache had that legal work been done at the beginning or at least once the podcast started taking off.

I’m so happy someone else watched. I actually think Emma went to college with me, which I’m putting together now.

The obvious thing is… when they started the show they might’ve not realized how good a business they were building, so the prenup thing didn’t even come to mind. It sucks bringing paperwork into friendships but I guess it will become more normalized

Mention of Hermes requires me to plug the Acquired episode on them, one of the show's best.

I love the Belvedere so much. I mean it’s a stage set basically instead of an actual building and it’s rotting but it rules. Once I checked in and they were shooting a porno in my room! It did not feel sanitary! They did not give me a different room!

SoCal girl here (in defense of Sun Life)- Billion Dollar Smoothie is overrated but Mint Chocolate Chip (~$18) is better than any Erewhon Smoothie

Honestly the Hermes valuation eclipsing LVMH is somewhat mindblowing considering the number of brands under the LVMH umbrella in multiple industries. Incroyable...

Love that Sunlife Organics can exist outside of CA—they definitely made a splash in Austin with that 50g protein smoothie 😂

Wondering how much more cultural relevance $$$ smoothies in general will have considering even grocery stores are doing Erewhon dupe ones

Meanwhile they are basically 80g sugar bombs 💣

On the yacht firings last year my friend and I met a yacht crew at a club in Greece and they told us a woman got fired that day for feeding the owner too close to his run. It’s tough out there!
