An old client of mine in Switzerland called Alpian sounds a lot like this. Curious to see how people enjoy a digital-first wealth mgt experience in the US!
Or if it’s simply too unlike what people expect from wealth management (e.g. in-person).
Very curious about something you said (apologies if this is a dumb question), but why is it a death wish for small brands to enter into a deal with Sephora?
I haven’t been in the industry for a while but the tldr is small brands get bullied. Sephora pushes their own decisions (from exclusivity, to you must release x new products a year, or spend this much on marketing, to you must meet this trend or shape your brand narrative like this) - it’s heavy handed as you might expect the dominating force in the industry to be. Plus, you’ve got to move a significant amount of product when you’re wholesaling vs the profits you’re making from direct to consumer - which is where the catch-22 of paying Sephora more for it to market you better comes in. Being featured on the landing page or in email doesn’t come free.
That’s an incomplete summary but just some bits to consider!
We had an absolutely spectacular spaniel mix for almost 15 years we found as a stray puppy - I developed a (bad? funny?) habit of telling people that he was an imported field spaniel from an off-grid breeder with no social media and no website who only had one litter every four years and the number of people who believed me and begged for their contact info was a little concerning.
I used Titan for awhile and really liked it. Eventually I had to move all my $$ over to an irl money manager for personal reasons but I did like the app, experience, content and their indexes.
I actually screenshotted Jilly Hendrix’s ig story of the corner store because they had a very robust martini menu and it felt like it should go on my screenshot dream board
The survey of dog breeds and dog names makes me think that wealth and being a savvy pet owner are inversely related!
