My princess hair last night that I wore to the opera. This is also a PSA that The Metropolitan Opera is one of the best places you can go this time of year. Last night I saw top hats, vintage Chanel, sketchy dates, politicians, and the beautiful brilliant young women I was with gather in one room. It’s sparkly, they have champagne, and it’s a good excuse to go to Lincoln Center.

The obesity pay gap is worse than previously thought. The Economist’s analysis finds that well-educated workers in particular are penalized for their weight:
Obesity is associated with a wage penalty of nearly 8%, even after accounting for the separate effects of age, race, graduate education and marital status
Obese men with a bachelor’s degree earn 5% less than their thinner colleagues. Those with a graduate degree earn 14% less.
Obese women, it is true, still have it worse: for them, the equivalent figures are 12% and 19%, respectively.
We have eyes on the new McDonald’s drive-thru concept. Some early investigators think it will be more like a Starbucks and focused on drinks and coffee, vs. full meals — makes sense considering this four-lane initial build is right next to an existing McDonald’s. The super-secret new restaurant concept is based on an obscure McDonaldland character from the late '80s. McDonald's has said it will reveal more details during its investor's day conference next week. Fun 👀
The Mets have made a pretty interesting finance hire. Steve Cohen’s New York Mets hired Bloomberg Media Chief Executive Officer M. Scott Havens as president of business operations. Sounds like Steve thought he could be a front-office exec. Doesn’t look like Havens has spent any time in sports…
